Introduction:

Annapurna Base Camp Trekking, leads you around Nepal Mid West Himalaya which is 220 k.m. away driving distance from Kathmandu.

From Pokhara where our Annapurna Base Camp Trekking begins to enter into scenic Sanctuary, which was first explored by Jimmy Roberts in early 1960s’ and he christened the areas as Sanctuary of Gods, the abode of natural spirits.

Walking journey leads to the foot hills and then climbing towards higher hills within lovely Gurung villages with daily views of Annapurna Himalaya on walks within enchanting cool alpine woodland covered with tall rhododendron trees.

In spring and summer the hills are alive with riots of colors from blooming rhododendron flowers (national flower of Nepal), the areas regarded as world’s largest natural garden around Ghorepani and Poon Hill.

As walk leads you into Ghorepani inhabited by Poon / Magar tribe of hill people, in the backdrop of Dhaulagiri and Annapurna Himalaya, here taking a hike to famous Poon Hill for stunning views of sunrise over chain of Himalayan peaks.

After Ghorepani walk leads towards our main goal and highlight to scenic Annapurna Sanctuary at Annapurna Base Camp with arrays of peaks of Annapurna Himalaya.

With overnight at Annapurna base camp surrounded with amphitheatre of peaks our marvelous adventure concludes walking back to Pokhara, a beautiful places blessed with mountain scenery and serene lakes.

Brief Itinerary:

Day 01: Arrival at Kathmandu and transfer to hotel.
Day 02: In Kathmandu optional tour and preparation for Annapurna Base Camp Trekking.
Day 03: Drive to Pokhara 860 m – 06 hrs.
Day 04: Drive to Nayapul (trek point) and trek to Tirkhedhunga 1,450 m – 04 hrs.
Day 05: Trek to Ghorepani 2,874m – 05 hrs.
Day 06: Morning hike to Poon-Hill and trek to Tadapani 2,721m – 05 hrs.
Day 07: Trek to Chomrong village at 2,170m – 06 hrs.
Day 08: Trek to Dovan 2,600 m via Bamboo 2,310 – 06 hrs.
Day 09: Trek to Machhapuchare Base Camp 3,700 via Deurali 3,200 m – 05 hrs.
Day 10: Trek to Annapurna Base Camp 4,130 m – 03 hrs with free afternoon.
Day 11: Trek back to Bamboo 2,310 m – 06 hrs.
Day 12: Trek to Jhinu Danda (hot-spring) 1,780 m – 05 hrs.
Day 13: Trek to Bhirethati and drive to Pokhara – 07 hrs.
Day 14: Drive or fly back to Kathmandu and transfer to respective hotels.
Day 15: International departure for home ward bound.

Day 01: Arrival in Kathmandu and transfer to hotels.
On arrival at Kathmandu international airport, where you will be received with warm welcome and then transfer to your hotels in the hub of Kathmandu city, after checking in getting refreshed rendezvous with other trekking members and staff.

Here our guide or group leader will brief you with information regarding Annapurna Base Camp Trekking, with welcome dinner in a nice Nepalese Restaurants includes Folk program of various parts of Nepal.

Day 02: In Kathmandu optional tour and preparation for Annapurna base camp treks.
We reserved a day in Kathmandu for full preparations and packing as well to purchase necessary equipments for the trek.

On this free day, one can take an optional sightseeing tour at places of interest around Kathmandu-Patan and Bhaktapur cities, where you will be soaked within culture and historical sites most of the monuments listed as World Heritage Sites.

Day 03: Drive to Pokhara 950m – 06 hrs journey distance 220 k.m.
Morning overland journey on the main busy highway of Nepal heading towards Mid West zone at Pokhara, drive leads through Himalayan foothills within warmer areas past many farm villages and town.

Finally this exciting drive reaching at Pokhara, then transfer to respective hotels by the beautiful and serene Phewa Lake with afternoon free for short walks.
(Options by Air 30 minutes scenic flight to Pokhara).

Day 04: Drive to Nayapul (trekking point) and trek to Tirkhedhunga 1,450 m – 04 hrs.           
Morning couple of hours drives from Pokhara towards mid hills towns and villages. Superb views of rolling landscapes and Annapurna mountain range including majestic Mt. Machhapuchare “The Fish Tail” to reach at Nayapul (new bridge) located on Pokhara-Baglung / Beni highway.

From here starting our trekking on gradual path through lovely Bhirethati village, on old Nepal / Tibet Trans-Himalayan Salt and Caravan Trade Route, walk leads past farm lands and traditional villages to reach Tirkhedhunga village for the first overnight stop in the comfort of a nice cozy lodge after four hours of good walk.

Day 05: Trek to Ghorepani 2,874m – 05 hrs.
Morning leads to steep uphill for two hours on stone steps to reach at Ulleri village, with views of surrounding landscapes and snow capped peaks of Annapurna South with
Mt. Machhapuchare.

From Ulleri village walk on winding path into oaks-pines and rhododendron forest, and then with gradual uphill climb as altitude gains slowly to top of Ghorepani Deurali village.

Ghorepani offers fabulous views of Mt. Dhaulagiri, Annapurna South and Vara-Shikar or Annapurna Fang, this lovely village located at the base of Poon Hill populated with Pun, Magar ethnic hill tribe.

Day 06: Morning hike to Poon-Hill and trek to Tadapani 2,721m – 05 hrs.
Morning, an hour hike up to Poon-Hill at 3,210 m high for stunning sunrise views over mountain range of Mt. Dhaulagiri, Mt. Manaslu to Annapurna and as far to Ganesh Himal including Mt. Machhapuchare “The Fish Tail” the virgin peaks.

After a wonderful moment at Poon Hill within awesome views, walk downhill to Ghorepani for breakfast and then continue walk to Tadapani.

Walk leads uphill through enchanting rhododendron forest all the way to Tadapani for the overnight stop.

Tadapani located amidst rhododendron, magnolia and oaks forest with views of Mt. Machhapuchare and Annapurna South.

Day 07: Trek to Chomrong village at 2,170m – 06 hrs.
After a pleasant morning with views of Annapurna South-Huinchuli and Fish Tail peaks our walk leads downhill into dense cool woodland to reach near Kimrong valley.

From here in the afternoon climb towards Chomrong village past terraced farm areas, an hour of uphill then on gentle stone paved path with gradual walks to Chomrong village.

Chomrong one of largest Gurung villages, as well the last village before Annapurna base camp and sanctuary, beyond Chomrong with temporary settlement to cater the needs of trekkers with lodge and guest houses.

Day 08: Trek to Dovan 2,600 m via Bamboo 2,310 – 06 hrs.
Morning walk downhill to cross a short bridge heading up to reach at Sinuwa at 2,360 m high, a lonely spot with few shops and nice lodges walk from here leads into cool forested area of oaks-rhododendron and pines trees and then a short steep descend to Bamboo a small settlement with 5-6 lodges surrounded by bamboo trees, on Modi River gorge.

After Bamboo an hour or more of slow climb brings at Dovan for overnight stop located within Modi River Gorge with couple of lodge for overnight stay.

Day 09: Trek to Machhapuchare Base Camp 3,700 via Deurali 3,200 m – 05 hrs.
After a nice overnight stop at Dovan with the sound of raging Modi River, morning walk leads higher through thick forested area reaching at Himalaya Hotel located beneath Huinchuli peak and large overhanging Hinko Cave. From downhill by the Modi River crossing ablation of old avalanches of rocky moraine, then a short climb brings at Deurali after leaving the gorge area to more wide open area. From Deurali after lunch stop heading higher leaving the tree lines behind following the raging glacial Modi River all the way to Machhapuchare base camp at 3,700 m high for overnight stop, located beneath towering North Face of the Fish Tail Mountain.

Day 10: Trek to Annapurna Base Camp 4,130 m – 03 hrs with free afternoon.
Walk this morning leads into famous scenic Annapurna Sanctuary where Annapurna Base Camp located.  From Machhapuchare Base Camp starting point of the sanctuary, walk leads towards higher ground for few hours to enter into a magical sanctuary within amphitheatre of peaks that surrounds this amazing place.

After few hours of pleasant walk brings you to the highest spot of this adventure at Annapurna base camp with 4,130 meters elevation.

The one and only base camp around Himalaya with facilities of nice and cozy lodge and inns to stay with scenic panorama of whole Annapurna range of peaks.

Afternoon enjoy with views of  Annapurna I (8,091m / 26,545ft) Annapurna South (7,219m-23,693ft), Gangapurna (7,455m-24,457ft) and Annapurna III (7,555m-24,787ft), including to Mt. Machhapuchare (Fish-tail) at 6,790 m stretches up towards Tent Peak / Tharpu Chuli and Fluted Peaks or Singu Chuli.

Day 11: Trek back to Bamboo 2,310 m – 06 hrs.
After a most memorable and scenic moment at base camp within picturesque sanctuary retrace the journey on downhill walk back into tree lines with few short ups to reach at Bamboo for overnight stop.

Day 12: Trek to Jhinu Danda (hot-spring) 1,780 m – 05 hrs.
From Bamboo leaving Modi River gorge, climb leads up to Khuldi-Ghar into forested area, and then with short gradual walk to Sinuwa danda, from here descend to Chomrong River, and then climb on steps to Chomrong for lunch stop.

After Chomrong a short climb to the top ridge and then changing our direction from here with an alternative route to reach Pokhara, a short downhill walk brings at scenic and lovely Jhinu village for overnight stop, located on a ridge top with views of surrounding landscapes and rolling green hills. A short descend of 25 minutes reaches you at hot-spring by the Modi River.

Day 13: Trek to Bhirethati and drive to Pokhara – 07 hrs.
After a refreshing and pleasant time at Jhinu village morning with last day walks of the adventure on Annapurna Base Camp Trek, an easy descends leads to follow raging Modi River towards warmer areas past smaller farm villages.

Walk continue reaching at the bottom of Ghandruk and Landruk village, where our route leads back into farm areas within villages to reach at Bhirethati and in Nayapul for few hour drive to Pokhara for last overnight stop in Nepal Mid West Himalaya.

Day 14: Drive or fly back to Kathmandu and transfer to respective hotels.
Morning catching last views of Annapurna Himalaya with majestic Machhapuchare Himal or Fish Tail, and then an exciting overland journey to reach back into the hustle bustle city life of Kathmandu after a great experience and overwhelming time on Annapurna Base Camp Trekking.

Day 15: International departure for home ward bound.
After a great and grand experience around high hill and mountains of Annapurna Himalaya, depart from the hotel to airport for final departure homeward bound or to respective destinations.
