Introduction:

Annapurna Circuit Trekking, one of the most beautiful and scenic destination in all Himalaya, listed as world’s top Ten adventure holiday destination, truly an amazing country full of interesting culture with views of high snow capped mountains on daily walk.

Annapurna Circuit Trekking areas located around Nepal Mid North Western Himalaya covering interesting areas of Lamjung-Manang-Mustang-Mygdi and Kaski districts, with dramatic culture and change of temperatures on trekking.

Starting with an exciting drive from Kathmandu to reach warmer areas of Lamjung district past Besisar town, as walk begins visiting Jagat-Dharpani and Chame town (headquarter and administrative town of Manang areas), and then slowly reaching into scenic and beautiful Manang valley with excellent views of snow clad mountains.

Annapurna Circuit Trekking follows Marsyangdi River upstream right to its glacial source at Manang, which is the main village of immense old culture and custom similar to Tibetan Buddhism.

In Manang with rest days to explore its scenic view hills within traditional villages and then our adventure continues towards our main highlight over Thorang-La Pass, the highest spot of the adventure at 5,416 m / 17,769 ft.

A long descend leads to Kaligandaki River valley around Mustang areas after a visit of holy Muktinath Temple and then taking an exciting drive towards warmer areas at Tatopani past world deepest gorge of Kaligandaki River.

At Tatopani with grand time at Hot Spring, then our trek continues climbing up to high hills at Ghorepani village with fantastic views along the walk heading into cooler alpine zone within beautiful rhododendron forest.

Concluding this most wonderful adventure with a hike to Poon Hill for striking sunrise over chain of Himalayan peaks covering 600 k.m. range of mountains, and then heading downhill for the drive to scenic and beautiful Pokhara beside serene Phewa Lake.

Annapurna Circuit Trekking completes at picturesque Pokhara with a drive back to Kathmandu with excellent adventure and memories of a lifetime experience.

Day 01: Arrival at Kathmandu and transfer to hotel.
Day 02: In Kathmandu optional tour and preparation for Annapurna Circuit Trek.
Day 03: Drive to Syange 1,140m via Besisahar – 06 hrs.
Day 04: Trek to Dharapani 1,920m – 05 hours.
Day 05: Trek to Chame 2,670 m – 06 hours.
Day 06: Trek to Pisang village 3,300 m – 05 hrs.
Day 07: Trek to Manang village 3,540 m – 05 hrs.
Day 08: Rest day at Manang for acclimatization and short hike.

Day 10: Trek to Thorang- La High Camp or Phedi 4,450m – 06 hrs.

Day 01: Arrival in Kathmandu and transfer to hotels.
On arrival at Kathmandu international airport, where you will be received with warm welcome and then transfer to your hotels in the hub of Kathmandu city, after checking in getting refreshed rendezvous with other climbing members and staff.

Here our guide or group leader will brief you with information regarding Annapurna Circuit Trekking, with welcome dinner in a nice Nepalese Restaurants includes Folk program of various parts of Nepal.

Day 02: In Kathmandu optional tour and preparation for Annapurna Circuit treks.

We reserved a day in Kathmandu for full preparations and packing as well to purchase necessary equipments for the trek.

On this free day, one can take an optional sightseeing tour at places of interest around Kathmandu-Patan and Bhaktapur cities, where you will be soaked within culture and historical sites most of the monuments listed as World Heritage Sites.

Day 03: Drive to Syange 1,140m via Besisar – 06 hrs.
Morning overland journey on main busy highway of Nepal heading towards Mid West zone around Lamjung and Manang districts, drive leads through Himalayan foothills within warmer areas past many farm villages and town.

Day 04: Trek to Dharapani 1,920m – 05 hours.

From Syange first day walk begins with a climb leaving behind Marshyangdi River to reach at Jagat village, a farm village with many lodges for trekkers.

 

After Jagat walk on winding path to Chamje to join back at Marshyangdi River crossing the river heading into forested area, with super views of Annapurna and Manaslu mountain ranges.

As the walk continues reaching Tal Besi, from here another few hours walk leads to overnight stop at Dharapani village.

 

Dharapani a nice village located on the junction of Annapurna circuit and Manaslu trekking trail.

 

Day 05: Trek to Chame 2,670 m – 05 hours.

With pleasant overnight stop in Dharapani morning walk into rhododendron and pine forest passing villages of Bagarchap and Danque, then at Timang village with more Buddhist cultured village including views of Mt. Manaslu 8,163m / 26,781ft. From Timang village few hours trek leads to Koto close to Chame town.

 

After a refreshing stop at Koto where trail to Nar-Phu and towards Chame beyond joins, from here a short slow uphill walk brings you at Chame for the overnight stop, Chame a large major and headquarter town of Manang district.

 

Day 06: Trek to Pisang 3, 230 m – 05 hrs.

From here onwards feel the cool and fresh mountain air, morning walk leads through enchanting alpine forests of rhododendron and pine tree lines following the Marshyangdi River upstream with several ups and downs to Bhratang village, after this small village walk follows uphill’s through the woodlands at Dukure Pokhari with couple of teahouses overlooking views of Chulu’s and Pisang peak and of Pisang village, after a break here descending to reach the lower Pisang village for overnight stop.

 

Day 07: Trek to Manang 3,540 m – 05 hrs.

Morning walk leads you towards Manang main village, on route with short stop at Humdre and at Braga villages before reaching at Manang village after a great scenic walk of the day.

Morning views of mountains, from Pisang walk leads facing Annapurna II and III, Gangapurna Chulu’s and Pisang peak.

Walking on flat valley at Hongde village with its small airstrip, from here onward easy pleasant treks then reaching at main Manang village for overnight stop in the comfort of nice and cozy lodges.

 

Before Manang, visit old Braga monastery with old Buddhist relics, ancient wall painting and frescos and stunning views of Annapurna Himalaya, from here an hour walk reaches at Manang village.

 

Day 08: Rest day at Manang for acclimatization and short hike.
A rest day in this nice traditional Manang village for acclimatization and short hike to a view point hill below massive Mt. Gangapurna Ice falls and glaciers above Manang emerald colored lake, afternoon explore Manang village of great interest with Buddhist tradition and culture.

 

Day 09: Trek to Yak Kharka 4,210m – 04 hrs.
After a nice stop in Manang village, walk leads to Ghunsang village and then at Yak Kharka,
an interesting morning walk with grand views of snowcapped mountains, on crossing a small stream reaching at Yak Kharka, a small and remote settlement of Manang villagers where in early days used to be a Yak grazing land.

 

Yak Kharka houses 4-5 good lodges to stay with super views of Mt. Gangapurna, Annapurna III, Tilicho and Chulu’s Peaks.

 

Day 10: Trek to Thorang- La High Camp or Phedi 4,450m – 06 hrs.
From Yak Kharka walk to Ledar and then continue towards base of Thorang-la pass, on crossing a bridge with a climb along Jarjung River, final day walk leads at Thorang Phedi with 3-4 lodges and then with short rest an hour steep climb reaches you at Thorang High Camp for overnight stop.

 

Day 11: Cross Thorang La 5,416m | 17,769 ft and trek to Muktinath 3,800 m- 06 hrs.
Today, highlight of the adventure crossing over Thorang-La, after an early breakfast walk leads to a long climb to reach on top Thorang-la on winding steep path.

Thorang-La Pass above 5,416 m and 17,700 ft the top festooned with thousands of Buddhist colorful prayer flags, with a sign board of Thorang-La and its specific heights.

 

From here facing grand view of snowcapped peaks, a long descends takes you at holy Muktinath around Lower Mustang area.

 

On reaching Muktinath for overnight stop, one of the holiest of all holy spot for Hindu religion and as well for some Buddhist, the word Muktinath literally means ‘place for Nirvana or Liberation’.

 

Day 12: Drive to Tatopani 1,190 m via Jomsom and Marpha village – 04 hrs journeys.
From Muktinath, rest of the journey is easier (due to motorable road with few trekking path) taking a jeep drive to shorten the adventure, an exciting ride with big drop of 1,200 m as the trail descend to Kaligandaki river valley to reach at Jomsom.

 

Jomsom headquarter town of Mustang region with a small airstrip above Kaligandaki River, an interesting country around Kaligandaki River valley within dry and arid country with incredible views of windblown hills and canyons.

 

From Jomsom a short drive to Marpha village one of the most charming village with whitewashed houses, paved streets and numerous well kept lodges.

This Kaligandaki area famous for delicious apples and its products, here celebrate with local apple products cider, brandy and juices. Kaligandaki area is also famously known as Apple Pie Trail.

From Marpha enjoy ride following Kaligandaki river downstream, reaching at Tukuche another beautiful village, located beneath Tukuche peak and massive Dhaulagiri Mountain range with Mt. Nilgiris, from here back into tree line of pines, oaks and rhododendron, and then reaching a lovely area in Kalapani village, as the drive continues to Lete with grand views of Mt. Annapurna I, Nilgiris and Dhaulagiri.

From Lete onwards leads to dramatic change in landscapes and temperatures, in between two high peaks of Dhaulagiri and Annapurna turning this narrow valley into world deepest gorge of Kaligandaki.

Drive continues to reach at Ghasa village the end of Mustang district dominated by Thakali tribe from here an hour ride to Tatopani (Hot Spring) village within sub-tropic climate area.

Tatopani another nice village with large hot spring pools just by the bank of the River Kaligandaki.

Day 13: Trek to Ghorepani 2,860 m – 06 hrs.
From Tatopani, enjoying its refreshing hot spring, our walk continues to cross a bridge over Kaligandaki River and then route diverts towards uphill climbing high onto terraced hillside, dotted with farms and villages.

After a steep climb into dense alpine forest reaching Chitre, and then to our overnight stop at Ghorepani village.

Ghorepani offers super views of Mt. Dhaulagiri, Annapurna South and Vara-Shikar also known Annapurna Fang.

Day 14: Hike to Poon Hill and trek to Tirkhedhunga 1,440 m – 05 hrs.
Early before sunrise hike to the top at Poon Hill to catch the striking sunrise over range of Himalayan peaks of world 7th highest Dhaulagiri-10th highest Annapurna with range of peaks includes world 8th highest Manaslu with towering Machhapuchare peak “Fish Tail”.

After an enjoyable and exciting time with eye catching views from Poon Hill, head back to Ghorepani and continue downhill walk into lovely forested area for an hour and then reaching at Ulleri village with long descend to Tirkhedhunga for overnight stop in warmer areas.

Day 15: Walk to Nayapul 1,070 m via Bhirethati and drive to Pokhara.
Our last day walk of this marvelous adventure leads downhill to much warmer temperature walking past farm fields and terraces with interesting traditional Gurung villages to reach at Bhirethati with beautiful cascading waterfalls, from this nice village following Modi River for short while to reach at the end of the trek in Nayapul, for the drive back at picturesque Pokhara by the serene Phewa Lake after an hour of exciting drive.

Day 16: Drive or fly back to Kathmandu and transfer to respective hotels.
Morning catching last views of Annapurna Himalaya with majestic Machhapuchare Himal or Fish Tail, and then an exciting overland journey to reach back into the hustle bustle city life of Kathmandu after a great experience and overwhelming time on Annapurna Circuit Trekking.

Day 17: In Kathmandu with sightseeing tour.
A day reserved as spare and free day for you to enjoy individual activities and shopping, with opportunity for sightseeing tour for few hours, after an interesting sightseeing back to hotel with afternoon free at leisure.

Day 18: International departure for home ward bound.
After a great and grand experience around high hill and mountains on Annapurna Circuit, depart from the hotel to the airport for final departure homeward bound or to respective destinations.
