Introduction:

Gokyo Lake & Tsho-La Pass to EBC trekking a great combination offering you with the best around both scenic areas of high Khumbu valley, in the shade of Everest and other giant peaks that you will encounter on this fascinating walks.

Besides tremendous views of mountain and world highest peaks, this trek offers you with great opportunity to witness Sherpa colorful culture and custom with traditional life of Tibetan Buddhism.

Walk also leads you to enjoy its peaceful and tranquil surrounding within cool shade of coniferous wood land covered with tall rhododendron-oaks-maples-pines and fir trees, as the walk leads further higher areas tree-lines and vegetation fades away for smaller high alpine bushes.

Daily walks with scenic views of mountains and exploring culture around traditional Sherpa farm villages and then reaching at Gokyo valley with its beautiful glacial lakes surrounded by high snow capped peaks, an amazing place on the hidden areas of Everest.

After a great enjoyable time at Gokyo Lake with climb of scenic hill top at Gokyo-Ri facing panorama of world’s four highest mountains Mt. Everest, Lhotse, Makalu and Cho-Oyu and then our next adventure leading to a high Tsho-La pass to reach at Everest Base Camp.

With marvelous time on high and scenic areas of Khumbu within the shade of Mt. Everest and then our adventure comes to an end with climb of highest point of the trek on top Kalapathar 5,545 m high with sweeping panorama of giant peaks with Everest at its closest.

Adventure leads back to Lukla after walking past beautiful Thyangboche Monastery with amazing mountain scenery and greenery and then following the main scenic trail to Lukla for sweeping short flight to reach hustle and bustle city life in Kathmandu.

Day 01:            Arrival at Kathmandu and transfer to hotel.
Day 02:            In Kathmandu optional tour and preparation for Mt. Everest Trek.
Day 03:            Fly to Lukla 2,830 m & trek to Phakding 2,640 m – 04 hrs.
Day 04:            Trek to Namche Bazaar 3,440 m – 05 hrs.
Day 05:            Rest day at Namche Bazaar for acclimatization and excursion.
Day 06:            Trek to Dole 4,200m – 06 hrs.
Day 07:            Trek to Machherma 4,470 m – 04 hrs.
Day 08:            Trek to Gokyo Lake 4,790m – 04 hrs.
Day 09:            At Gokyo hike to Gokyo-Ri 5,357m afternoon walk to Thaknak 4,750m – 04 hrs.

Day 16:            Trek to Lukla – 04 hrs.
Day 17:            Fly back to Kathmandu and transfer to respective hotels.
Day 18:            In Kathmandu free day for individual activities.
Day 19:            International departure for home ward bound.

Day 01: Arrival in Kathmandu and transfer to hotels.
On arrival at Kathmandu international airport, where you will be received with warm welcome and then transfer to your hotels in the hub of Kathmandu city, after checking in getting refreshed rendezvous with other trekking members and staff.

Here our guide or group leader will brief you with information regarding Gokyo Lake & Tsho-La Pass to Everest Base Camp trekking, with welcome dinner in a nice Nepalese Restaurants includes Folk program of various parts of Nepal.

Day 02: In Kathmandu preparation for Gokyo Lake & Tsho-La Pass to EBC.
A free day in Kathmandu for preparations and packing as well to purchase necessary equipments for the trek, on this leisure day an option to join in our sightseeing tour at places of interest around Kathmandu-Patan and Bhaktapur cities.

Where you will be soaked within culture and historical sites listed as World Heritage Sites.

Day 03: Fly to Lukla 2,886m and walk to Phakding 2,640m – 04 hrs
Morning transfer to Kathmandu domestic airport for sweeping 30 minutes scenic flight in a smaller aircraft to Lukla with panorama of snow clad mountains with Everest in view during airborne.

On reaching at Lukla airport named Tenzing & Hillary Airport, after sorting out gear and getting refreshed start walk to Phakding for overnight stop, as the route leads towards many Sherpa farm villages with great views, and the slowly walk reaches you at Phakding village for first overnight in Khumbu region.

Day 04: Trek to Namche Bazaar 3,440 m – 06 hrs.

Morning walk starts walking on the bank of Dudh Kosi River, crossing bridges to reach at the entrance of Sagarmatha National Park in Monjo village, after checking inside the Park walk leads to last village at Jorsalle.

From here walk leads to cross last high bridge and then with uphill walk for few hours heading towards Namche Bazaar, here with two nights in this prosperous large village as well the main centre and capital of Khumbu, where one can find facilities of ATMs, Cyber cafes, stores, shops, restaurants, banks and fresh bakery with busy colorful Saturday market.

Day 05: Rest day at Namche Bazaar for acclimatization.

Namche an ideal place for acclimatization, on rest relax or take a short hike up to the park museum which houses great range of information from mountaineering, flora- fauna with Sherpa cultures and Buddhist religion.

From here enjoy grand panorama of high snow capped mountains with Mt. Everest and stunning peak Amadablam, other optional walk up to Everest View Hotel for another beautiful views of surrounding mountains.

Day 06: Trek to Dole 4,200m – 06 hrs.
With pleasant stop at Namche Bazaar with rest days, morning leads a short steep climb, and then on easy winding trail through alpine tree lines with views of Mt. Everest-Lhotse-Nuptse-Amadablam and other peaks.

Walk continues to Mong danda with a climb to reach a small spot perched on a ridge facing beautiful views of mountains.

From Mong downhill walk to Dudh Kosi River at Phunki Thanka for lunch in the shade of tall alpine woodland, afternoon walk leads to few hours with a climb into alpine forest filled with rhododendron-oaks-magnolia-pines-juniper and fir tree lines with views of peaks, finally walk ends on a small place in Dole for overnight stop.

Day 07: Trek to Machherma 4,470 m – 04 hrs.
From Dole walk starts with a climb to a small top where tree lines fades for smaller rhododendron and juniper bushes, walk leads to higher altitude, as our route leads on level path for an hour reaching at Lhabarma Kharka and Luza at 4,390m; walk continues skirting a ridge line with grand views of Mt. Cho-Oyu stands as world 6th highest at above 8,201 m high.

After facing views, then descend to Machherma small settlement with few nice and comfortable lodges, reaching Machherma for lunch and overnight stop with enough time for short walks or just relax and enjoy the views.

Day 08: Trek to Gokyo Lake 4,790m – 04 hrs.
After Machherma gaining altitude, as morning leads with another short walks to reach one of the highlight of the adventure at Gokyo Lake, walk leads on gradual path to Pangka, a small flat area and then descend to follow a glacial river a tributary of Dudh Kosi, which flows from Ngozumba Glacier with Mt. Cho-Oyu and adjoining peaks.

Walk leads to a climb reaching at first Lake of Gokyo, and then past second lake then reaching at third lake also known as Dudh Pokhari the main Lake of Gokyo.

Overnight at Gokyo with lunch stop in the backdrop of Mt. Cho Oyo and Gyachung Kang that reflects on its turquoise colored Gokyo Lake.

Day 09: At Gokyo hike to Gokyo-Ri 5,357m afternoon walk to Thaknak 4,750m – 04 hrs.
Morning starts with early optional hike up to Gokyo Ri for striking sunrise views over array of world highest mountains, as climbs leads with steep up to reach on top of Gokyo Ri at 5,357 m.

Gokyo-Ri view top rewards you with panorama of mountains from Mt. Everest-Lhotse-Makalu with Mt. Cho-Oyu including series of peaks with Gokyo lake and Ngozumba Glacier down below.

After great scenic views, descend back to Gokyo for breakfast and lunch with afternoon easy and short walk to Thaknak or Dragnag for overnight stop in this isolated place with few lodges beneath Tsho-la Pass.

Day 10: Cross Cho-la Pass 5,367m to Dzongla 4,830m – 07 hrs.
Starting our adventure early morning as walk begins with a climb over scree and rocks for few hours with rest in between, finally reaching on top of Tsho-La often spelled as Cho-La, festooned with Buddhist prayer flags offering views of Nirekha-Cholatse and Lobuche peaks.

After a small stop enjoying the views descend towards other side of the pass heading towards Everest base camp with overnight in a small peaceful spot at Dzong-la after a tough days walk and climb.

Day 11: Trek to Lobuche 4,930 m – 05 hrs.

On leaving Dong-la and Tsho-la areas, short climb to a ridge near a prayer monuments and then on gradual trail with slow climb to reach above Thugla (Dugla), where trail from Pheriche valley and Dingboche joins towards Everest Base Camp.

From the high ridge stunning views of Taboche, Cholatse, Lobuche, Pumori, Ama Dablam, after a rest walk leads to Lobuche for overnight stop.

Day 12: Trek to Gorakshep 5,170 m and Everest Base Camp 5, 364 m – 06 hrs.

Our today walks leads to another highlight of the adventure to Everest base camp with views of Mt. Pumori, Lingtrin, Khumbutse and Mt. Everest.

After few hours of strenuous and scenic walks reaching at Gorakshep, an earlier Everest base camp till mid 1970′ a small place with some nice lodges on route to Everest Base Camp.

After a break here, continue walk to Everest Base Camp as the trail leads over ice and moraine and then reaching our highlight of the adventure at Everest Base Camp.

At Everest South Base Camp enjoy views of notorious Khumbu Ice Falls and glacier with close views of Lhotse-Nuptse and Lo-La, after a marvelous moment head back to Gorakshep for overnight stop.

Day 13: Hike to Kalapathar 5,545 m and continue trek to Pangboche 3,900 m – 06 hrs.
Early morning optional hike uphill to Kalapathar top at 5,545 m high, offers fantastic close view of Mt. Everest with surrounding peaks, after an eye catching views downhill to Gorakshep.

Morning after a great climb on scenic view top of Kalapathar, and continue walk to Thugla with downhill to Pheriche on a windy valley taking a nice and pleasant walk.

At Pheriche with super views of Amadablam, Nuptse wall, Lhotse, and then heading downhill and back into lower altitude within tree lines, as the walk leads to our overnight stop in Pangboche village.

Day 14: Trek to Kyanjima 3,630 m (near Namche & Khumjung) via Thyangboche – 06 hrs.
Walk continues retracing the same route from Pangboche, after crossing a bridge an hour climb to Thyangboche Monastery with amazing scenery. Here in Thyangboche with time to visit its interesting Buddhist monastery.

Walk continues to descend reaching at Imjatse River in a small place Phunge tenga, here crossing over a bridge, which leads to a short steep climb for an hour then on gentle winding walk all the way to Kyanjinma for overnight stop.

(Energetic people can visit Everest View Hotel or Khumjung and Khunde village)

Kyanjima a small beautiful spot with few lodges facing Everest-Amadablam and Tharmarserku peaks, here chance of spotting some wild life like Thar, Musk deer and the colorful Danphe (Impeyan pheasant and national bird of Nepal).

Day 15: Trek to Monjo 2,880 m – 06 hrs.
After a wonderful time on this lovely and scenic spot within serene alpine woodland walk towards Namche Bazaar here having a short rest, then continue walk downhill towards Monjo for overnight stop.

Day 16: Trek to Lukla – 06 hrs.

From Monjo walk leads to cross over Dudh Kosi River and then walking on River bank, with few short ups and downs to reach at Phakding village.

After a short rest our last walk leads you on the same scenic route back to Lukla with memorable adventure on Mt. Everest South Base Camp, walk follows past Ghat village then last uphill climb to Lukla for lunch and overnight stop, evening party and last dinner at Khumbu area.

Day 17: Fly to Kathmandu and transfer to hotel.
From Lukla flight starts from early morning to Kathmandu in fine clear weather, sometimes flight time can delay due to bad weather, as per the flight time board in a small plane for a super, scenic flight back to Kathmandu.

On reaching Katmandu domestic terminal our guide and staff transfer you back to respective hotels in the hub of Kathmandu in and around Thamel area.

Day 18: In Kathmandu for optional sightseeing tour.
A day reserved as spare and free day in case of flight delay at Lukla in due to bad weather conditions, with opportunity for sightseeing tour for few hours, after an interesting sightseeing back to hotel with afternoon free at leisure for individual activities.

Day 19: International departure for home ward bound.
After a great and great experience around high Khumbu with adventure on Gokyo Lake & Tsho-la Pass with Mt. Everest Base Camp trekking, depart from the hotel to the airport for final departure homeward bound or to respective destinations.
