Langtang Valley & Gosainkund / East Laurabina-la pass trekking, where all types of interested people can join in this scenic and adventurous walks on high ridges of Central Himalaya within Langtang Himal range of peaks.
Langtang Valley & Gosainkund / East Laurabina-la pass trekking, a pleasant walk where altitude gains slowly without a problem of catching AMS (Acute Mountain Sickness), where in most alpine pass trekking happens, if not taken proper precaution with acclimatization days.
Besides marvelous mountain views walk leads you to explore interesting culture of Tamang and Sherpa hills tribe villages of Tibetan Buddhism religion with its colorful custom as it was since past hundred of centuries.
Langtang Valley & Gosainkund / East Laurabina-la pass trekking, leads you to central Himalaya within Langtang Himal, where walk starts after an exciting drive from Kathmandu heading towards North, on reaching our starting point of walks at Syabrubesi village and heading towards Langtang valley past traditional farm villages entering into river gorge covered within dense forest of tall rhododendron-magnolia-oaks-pines and fir tree lines.
As walk progress climbing up where gorge opens into a wide and scenic valley at Kyanjin Gompa within Langtang valley surrounded by array of peaks, with time to marvel its magnificent scenery then heading towards our next destination at holy Gosainkund glacial pond.
Trekking through nice village of Thulo Sybaru, and then climb up into cool shade of woodland with incredible views of Langtang-Ganesh-Manaslu and Annapurna towards North West direction, as walk leads past Sing Gompa, and then leaving the tree lines behind for arid and barren terrain at sacred Gosainkund.
Gosainkund regarded as holy spot with its glacial large pond / lake where religious festival takes place in monsoon time of August month, thousands of Hindu pilgrim visits for holy dip in the lake.
From Gosainkund walk leads to a climb to cross over Gosainkund / East Laurabina-la pass to reach eastern side of lower Langtang Himal areas, where walk leads to nice cultural villages of Kutumsang-Gul Bhanjyang and at Chisapani with marvelous views of snow capped peaks with stunning sunrise.
Ending our trekking of the adventure with downhill walk to Sundarijal located North East of Kathmandu valley and then taking a short drive into Kathmandu city, to complete our wonderful and fabulous Langtang Valley & Gosainkund / Laurabina-La pass trekking.
Day 01: Arrival at Kathmandu and transfer to hotel.
Day 02: In Kathmandu optional tour and preparation for Langtang & Gosainkund Pass Trek
Day 03: Drive to Syabrubesi 1,460 m via Trisuli Bazaar – 06 hrs.
Day 04: Trek to Lama Hotel 2,430 m – 06 hours.
Day 05: Trek to Langtang village 3,430 m -06 hours.
Day 06: Trek to Kyanjin Gompa 3,749 m -04 hours.
Day 07: At Kyanjin Gompa rest day for acclimatization.
Day 08: Trek to Lama Hotel 2,350m – 06 hours walk.
Day 09: Trek to Upper / Thulo Syabru village 2,118m – 06 hours walk.
Day 10: Trek to Sing Gompa or Chandanbari at 3,254 m – 05 hrs.
Day 11: Trek to Gosainkund 4,381m / 14,375 ft – 05 hrs.
Day 12: Trek to Ghopte Odar 3,566m via Gosainkund or Laurabina-La 4,609 m /15,100ft.
Day 13: Trek to Kutumsang 2,445m – 06 hrs.
Day 14: Trek to Chisapani 2,195m via Gul Bhanjyang 2,125m – 07 hrs.
Day 15: Trek to Sundarijal 1,380m – 03 hrs with an hour drive back to Kathmandu.
Day 16: International Departure homeward bound.
Day 01: Arrival in Kathmandu and transfer to hotels.
On arrival at Kathmandu international airport, where you will be received with warm welcome and then transfer to your hotels in the hub of Kathmandu city, after checking in getting refreshed rendezvous with other climbing members and staff.
Here our guide or group leader will brief you with information regarding Langtang Valley & Gosainkund / East Laurabina-la pass trekking, with welcome dinner in a nice Nepalese Restaurants includes Folk program of various parts of Nepal.
Day 02: In Kathmandu optional tour and preparation for Langtang & Gosainkund Trek.
In Kathmandu for full preparations and packing as well to purchase necessary equipments,
on this free day take an optional sightseeing tour at places of interest around Kathmandu-Patan and Bhaktapur cities, where you will be within culture and historical sites most of the monuments listed as World Heritage Sites.
Day 03: Drive to Syabrubesi 1,460m- 06 hours.
Morning starts with exciting scenic drive away from Kathmandu valley, as the drive leads towards North past Nuwakott town and village to reach at Dhunche, headquarter town of Rasuwa district where Langtang National park starts, Dhunche at 1,900 m and then drive leads downhill on winding road to reach at Syabrubesi village for overnight stop.
Day 04: Trek to Lama Hotel 2,240m -06 hours.
After fresh morning with mountain air, first day walk of the adventure starts on gradual trail to cross a bridge over Bhote Kosi or upper Trisuli River, after the bridge climb leads to a ridge past scattered Tamang farm villages and terraces to enter into cool alpine forest of tall rhododendron-hemlocks-oaks-magnolia and fir tree lines.
Around this forested area where rare and endangered Red Panda habitats, which is seldom seen along the walk on to Lama Hotel for overnight stop.
Lama Hotel placed in a clearing surrounded within beautiful forests near a raging Upper Trisuli River.
Day 05: Trek to Langtang village 3,430m – 05 hours.
From Lama Hotel onward walks lead into a gorge covered with dense thick forest offering views of Langtang Lirung along the walk to reach at Ghoretabela, located in the midst of green woodland, after a pleasant rest walk continues with short ups into a forest to reach at Langtang village for overnight stop.
Langtang village was badly destroyed in 2015 earthquakes, this village is slowly coming back to normal; here visit around Tamang farm houses enrich with old culture of Buddhism religion.
Day 06: Trek to Kyanjin Gompa 3,749 m – 04 hours.
After breakfast, today a short walk to Kyanjin Gompa located within beautiful Langtang valley, reaching with a day in this magnificent valley is one of the highlight of this adventure.
Walk starts with short climb as the gorge opens into a wide scenic valley, where tree lines drops for short alpine bushes of azalea plants and juniper bushes with dramatic views of snow covered peaks.
Slowly walk takes you at Kyanjin with an altitude of above 3,850 m high surrounded with views of high mountains.
At Kyanjin with overnight stop, afternoon time relax and catch magnificent views and explore its small Cheese factory, established and support of Swiss technical assistance.
Day 07: Rest day for local hike and acclimatization.
A free day to get acclimatize before heading towards Gosainkund and East Laurabina-La Pass, here enjoy beautiful views of dramatic landscapes and peaks, optional hike to Tsego Ri or Kyanjin hill at above 4,700 m high.
The top offers grand views of Ghengu Liru (Langtang II 6,571m / 21,560ft), Langtang Lirung (7,425m / 23,765ft) Kimshun (6,745m / 22,137ft) and Shalbachum(6,918m / 22, 699ft) to the south, the Chimsedang Lekh a ridge of peaks includes Naya-Kanga 5,846m or Ganjala peak with Gangchempo, Tilman’s beautiful Fluted Peak.
Extending towards Jugal Himal and ending at Mt. Dorje Lakpa (6,966 m / 22,854 ft) within east direction leads to upper meadows at the very end of Langtang valley forming a massive mountain wall and a frontier with Tibet.
Day 08: Trek to Lama Hotel – 07 hrs.
After a marvelous time at Kyanjin, morning walk leads back on same route to Lama-Hotel a small settlement situated in the middle of a dense green forest near upper Trisuli River.
Day 09: Trek to Upper / Thulo Syabru village 2,118m -06 hrs.
The trek today follows the same route for an hour, then after the bridge the walk is pleasant through the rain and bamboo forest, after leaving the river way down below, the climb starts uphill through the landslide bit of rocks and boulders, passing through farm terraces to Upper Syabru is reached also called Thulo Syabru means bigger, the village with row of houses located on a ridge with a monastery.
Day 10: Trek to Singh Gompa 3,254m or Chandanbari – 05 hrs.
Morning walk leads uphill on winding path above the monastery and then gaining more height facing views of Ganesh-Himal, Manaslu, Langtang and Annapurna range towards far west, after a few refreshing stops at teahouses on route, journey continues with an hour uphill from the farmlands and into cool alpine forest and then reaching at Sing Gompa for overnight stop near its old monastery.
Day 11: Trek to Gosainkund 4,381 m – 05 hrs.
The trek today offers more views of snow clad peaks of Langtang to the north and Ganesh-Himal range towards north west along with Manaslu and Annapurna range, walk leads to gradual up for an hour entering oaks, pines and rhododendron forest, after a brief stops with grand views, walk continues on uphill trail leaving tree lines and green vegetation behind for dwarf rhododendron, juniper and alpine shrubs bushes.
The path unwinds uphill passing through few teahouses at Laurabina, means a place with walking sticks, (on auspicious time in August with full moon as per the Nepali Luna calendar, the pilgrims visits Gosainkund pond for ritual bathe and dip belief it delivers one into paradise and drink of its holy water relinquishes the sins of a hundred lifetimes) Hindu pilgrims leaves their walking stick here so the name Laurabina.
From here short descend and up reaching across Saraswati and Bhiarav kund after a small climb brings you to our overnight stop at Gosainkund near its pristine pond. Here you can see lots of traces left behind by the pilgrims.
Day 12: Trek to Ghopte Odar 3,566m via Gosainkund pass or Laurabina-La 4,609 m.
From Gosainkund starting with pleasant walk on a small path by the bank of Gosainkund pond, and then a slow climb leads to a creek in between rocks and boulders.
Climbing up near to a small glacial pond called Surjakund, from here walk is more gradual with winding up reaching over Gosainkund pass or East Laurabina La, on the highest spot of the adventure above 4,609 m /15,209 ft high.
On reaching our highlight of the adventure with amazing views, then a long descend leads to Phedi (base or bottom) at 3,694 m with few small teahouses.
Here with possible lunch stop or for refreshing break, and then walk continues heading east near to Helambu areas and back into green forest and vegetations of junipers, rhododendron to reach at Ghopte for overnight stop.
Ghopte Odar means overhanging rocks, a suitable shelter for porters and pilgrims visiting holy lakes of Gosainkund.
Day 13: Trek to Kutumsang 2,445m via – 06 hrs.
After walking within complete wilderness, from here our route meets the trail that joins Helambu and Kathmandu; morning walks on pleasant path into forest for an hour, and then a climb to Tharepati 3,597m.
A nice spot located on a ridge offering views of Langtang & Jugal Himal range with Ganesh-Manaslu towards west.
From here our route descends to Mangeghot, a nice place with grassy field with a Nepal Army Barrack or camp, from here walking into spread out farm fields to reach at Kutumsang village for overnight stop, a nice moderate size village with mixed hill tribe Sherpa, Hyalmo and Tamang people.
Day 14: Trek to Chisapani 2,195m via Gul Bhanjyang 2,125m – 07 hrs.
Today one of the longest day walk to reach at Chisapani, a scenic spot for sunrise and mountain views, morning walk leads to winding path with few ups and downhill passing farm areas and villages to reach at Gul-Bhanjyang located on a ridge top.
After a refreshing break journey continues on pleasant trails reaching at Pati Bhanjayang village, from this village a short last climb to reach our last overnight stop of the trek at Chisapani, a nice small village close to Kathmandu Valley rim.
A beautiful place for striking sunrise views over range of peaks from Langtang and Jugal Himal towards north east and with Ganesh Himal-Manaslu and Annapurna range towards further west.
Day 15: Walk to Sundarijal 1,380m and drive to Kathmandu.
Last day walk of our marvelous adventure leads into pristine forest and farmlands, after few hours of gradual walk reaching a ridge top of Burlang and Chepu Bhanjyang at 2,438 m high with views of Kathmandu Valley.
From here descend to Sundarijal (meaning beautiful water) a lovely spot with cool forest where monkeys are often seen with fresh clear streams.
Sundarijal, a small farm town from here drive back to Kathmandu after an enjoyable and great moment on Langtang & Gosainkund trekking, as the drive leads past Jhorpati and Bouddhanath following the busy city road for some times and then back to your hotel in Kathmandu.
A free afternoon opportunity for sightseeing tour of few hours or relax with individual activities and shopping.
Day 16: International departure for home ward bound.
After a great experience on high hill and mountains of Langtang Himal with Langtang Valley & Gosainkund / East Laurabina-la pass trekking, depart from the hotel to the airport for final departure homeward bound or to respective destinations.
