Introduction:

Lobuche East Peak towers at 6,119 m / 20,192 ft high which is close to its satellite Lobuche West peak, most of the climb is done on Lobuche East due to its assist and straight forward route to base camp and on top of its summit.

Lobuche East Peak, one of the tough and technical challenging peaks to climb compared to other trekking peaks of Nepal, with right attitude and good companion of Sherpa guides which will make this climb a great success.

Sherpa Climbing grade for Lobuche East Peak listed as TD which means ‘Technical Difficule’ as taken from French / Swiss Alpine Climbing Classification, which is widely used on this type of day climb.

Although a tough peak to tackle but can be done taking time and patience using the right equipments and making the route ahead of the climb to its summit top, where our climbers will do the necessary requirement to make this adventure exciting and memorable.

Lobuche East Peak Trek & Climb begins after taking a sweeping short flight to Lukla, the door to many adventures around Khumbu and Everest areas, following a pleasant path through lovely Sherpa villages and into alpine woodland to reach at famous Namche Bazaar for rest day and local hike.

From Namche walk leads past scenic Thyangboche Monastery areas to reach at Everest base camp and climb of Kalapathar for breathtaking panorama of mountains with Everest at close distance.

After much preparation and acclimatization our final and Big Day leads you to the summit of Lobuche East at 6,119 m / 20,192 ft high with outstanding panorama of mountains with Everest and other giant peaks.

Catching memorable panorama and scenery heading back safely to base camp and towards Lukla for scenic sweeping flight to reach back at Kathmandu after a incredible and most amazing adventure of a life time experience on Lobuche East Peak Trek & Climb.

Brief Itinerary:

Day 01:            Arrival at Kathmandu and transfer to hotel.
Day 02:            In Kathmandu optional tour and preparation for Lobuche Peak climb.
Day 03:            Fly to Lukla 2,830 m & trek to Phakding 2,640 m – 04 hrs.
Day 04:            Trek to Namche Bazaar 3,440 m – 05 hrs.
Day 05:            Rest day at Namche Bazaar for acclimatization and excursion.
Day 06:            Trek to Thyangboche 3,867 m – 05hrs.
Day 07:            Trek to Dingboche 4,260 m – 05hrs.
Day 08:            Trek to Lobuche 4,930 m – 05 hrs.
Day 09:            Trek to Gorakshep 5,180 m, walk to Everest Base Camp 5,364 m – 06 hrs.
Day 10:            Climb Kalapathar and continue trek to Lobuche East base camp 4,865 m – 05 hrs.
Day 11:            At Lobuche base camp rest and preparation for the climb.
Day 12:            Climb towards Lobuche High Camp 5,600 m – 03 hrs.
Day 13:            Climb to the summit of Lobuche Peak 6,119 m and descend – 08 hrs.
Day 14:            Reserve and contingency day in case of unfavorable weather.
Day 15:            Trek to Pangboche 3,900 m – 06 hrs.
Day 16:            Trek to Namche Bazaar – 06 hrs.
Day 17:            Trek to Lukla – 06 hrs.
Day 18:            Fly back to Kathmandu and transfer to respective hotels.
Day 19:            In Kathmandu rest with optional tour at places of interest.
Day 20:            International departure for home ward bound.

Following items can be bought or hired in Kathmandu.

Day 01:            Arrival in Kathmandu and transfer to hotels.
On arrival at Kathmandu international airport, where you will be received with warm welcome and then transfer to your hotels in the hub of Kathmandu city, after checking in getting refreshed rendezvous with other climbing members and staff.

Here our guide or group leader will brief you with information regarding trek and climb of Lobuche peak, with welcome dinner in a nice Nepalese Restaurants includes Folk program of various parts of Nepal.

Day 02:            In Kathmandu optional tour and preparation for Lobuche Peak Climb.

In Kathmandu for preparations and packing as well to purchase necessary equipments, or join in our cultural and historical sightseeing tour at places of interest around Kathmandu-Patan and Bhaktapur cities, where you will be soaked within culture and historical sites most of the monuments listed as World Heritage Sites.

Day 03:            Fly to Lukla 2,886m and walk to Phakding 2,640m – 04 hrs
Morning transfer to Kathmandu domestic airport for sweeping 30 minutes scenic flight in a smaller aircraft to Lukla with panorama of snow clad mountains with Everest in view during airborne.

 

On reaching at Lukla airport named Tenzing & Hillary Airport, after sorting out gear and getting refreshed start walk to Phakding for overnight stop, as the route leads towards many Sherpa farm villages with great views, and the slowly walk reaches you at Phakding village for first overnight in Khumbu region.

 

Day 04:            Trek to Namche Bazaar 3,440 m – 06 hrs.

Morning walk starts walking on the bank of Dudh Kosi River, crossing bridges to reach at the entrance of Sagarmatha National Park in Monjo village, after checking inside the Park walk leads to last village at Jorsalle.

 

From here walk leads to cross last high bridge and then with uphill walk for few hours heading towards Namche Bazaar, here with two nights in this prosperous large village as well the main centre and capital of Khumbu, where one can find facilities of ATMs, Cyber cafes, stores, shops, restaurants, banks and fresh bakery with busy colorful Saturday market.

 

Day 05:            Rest day at Namche Bazaar for acclimatization.

Namche an ideal place for acclimatization, on rest relax or take a short hike up to the park museum which houses great range of information from mountaineering, flora- fauna with Sherpa cultures and Buddhist religion.

From here enjoy grand panorama of high snow capped mountains with Mt. Everest and stunning peak Amadablam, other optional walk up to Everest View Hotel for another beautiful views of surrounding mountains.

 

Day 06:            Trek to Thyangboche 3,867 m – 05hrs.
After a pleasant rest at Namche, morning walk on gradual winding trail into rhododendron woodland, with views of Amadablam, Mt. Everest, Nuptse, Lhotse, Tharmarserku and Kwangde peaks.

 

Walk leads to a short descend to Imjatse River at Phunge Tenga, after a refreshing stop climb for few hours into a cool serene forest to Thyangboche Monastery.

 

A scenic spot with grand views of Amadablam, Kangtenga, Tharmarserku, Kwangde and Mt. Everest, a holy spot as the head lama (Rinpoche) of the monastery resides here.

Mountaineers take blessing from high lama or priest for successful climb and safe expedition.

 

Day 07:            Trek to Dingboche 4,260 m – 05 hrs.
Morning on downhill walk into lovely birch-rhododendron and pines forest, from here nice and pleasant walks and then our route leads to cross a bridge over Imja Khola. From here a gentle climb to reach Pangboche village with an old monastery.

 

This is the last permanent village before Everest Base Camp, after Pangboche tree lines drops for short rhododendron and juniper bushes. The trail leads to exposed area with views of
Mt. Amadablam after crossing a last bridge leading to a climb to reach within beautiful and scenic Imjatse valley at Dingboche for overnight stop.

 

Dingboche offers fabulous views of Amadablam North Face, Island / Imjatse Peak, Nuptse and Lhotse mountains, a little higher climb on the ridge offers views of world’s 5th highest
Mt. Makalu beyond Amphu Labtsa peak.

 

Day 08:            Trek to Lobuche 4,930 m – 05 hrs.

On leaving Dingboche, short climb to a ridge with prayer monuments and then on gradual trail with slow climb to reach at Thugla (Dugla), here trail from Pheriche valley and Dingboche joins towards Everest Base Camp.

 

From Thugla stunning views of Taboche, Cholatse, Lobuche, Pumori, Amadablam, after a lunch break and rest climb leads up to terminal debris of Khumbu Glacier coming a across many memorials of unfortunate climbers died on mountain of Khumbu, from here continue walk to Lobuche for overnight stop.

 

Day 09:            Trek to Gorakshep 5,170 m and Everest Base Camp 5, 364 m – 06 hrs.

Our route today quite tough due to gain in altitude offering tremendous views of
Mt. Pumori, Lingtrin, Khumbutse and Mt. Everest.

 

After few hours of strenuous scenic walk reaching at Gorakshep as the walk leads over moraine and icy path, Gorakshep a nice small place with some nice lodges on route Everest Base Camp, after a break here continue walk to Everest Base Camp as the trail leads over ice and moraine and then ending the day walk at Everest Base Camp.

Day 10:            Climb Kalapathar and trek to Lobuche East base camp 4,865 m – 05 hrs.
Morning an optional hike to Kalapathar top at the height of above 5,545 m / 18,298 ft high offers sweeping panorama of high surrounding peaks with Mt. Everest and Pumori at close distance.

After catching marvelous views head back to Gorakshep for breakfast and continue trek down to Lobuche, with short rest walk on gradual path towards Lobuche East base camp at 4,865 m high which is near on route Cho-la pass and Thugla high ridge.

 

Day 11:            At Lobuche base camp rest and preparation for the climb.
Today rest with time for climbing preparation, gathering all climbing gears from the porters and Yaks sorting out the right equipments and planning with some practices before the final climb on top Lobuche Peak.

 

Day 12:            Climb towards Lobuche High Camp 5,600 m – 03 hrs.
Starting with gradual climb to establish our high camp, climbing leads almost four hours to reach the High or Advance Camp for the climb, as the walk leads over rocky moraine faint path to reach High Camp, afternoon with free for final preparation for the climb, while our guide will scout the area for most straightforward and easy accessible climbing route and fixing ropes where necessary for next day climb to the summit.

 

Day 13:            Climb to the summit of Lobuche Peak 6,119 m and descend – 08 hrs.

A tough mountain to tackle as the climb leads to a steep haul; our expert guides will fix ropes where necessary on some tough technical section to reach the eastern summit of Lobuche peak, after a final push reaching on top 6,119 m / 20,192 ft high offers mind blowing views and panorama of mountains around Khumbu valley, certainly makes you feel on top high spirit.

Catch the views of Mt. Everest 8,848 m, Lhotse 8,501 m, Mt. Ama Dablam 6,856 m,
Mt. Makalu 8, 463 m, Chamlang and Baruntse peaks in the far distance, after an adventure of a life time experience and then descend on same route to base camp.

Day 14:            Reserve and contingency day in case of unfavorable weather.

We have reserved a day at base camp understanding the nature of the peak with high skill technical climb, as well to maintain the itinerary in case of unfavorable weather condition on the climb to the summit.

If all goes well as per our standard itinerary using this free day as rest at base camp to clean up the rubbish and garbage to hand to respective SPCC (Sagarmatha Pollution Control Committee) personal at designated places and sites.

Day 15:            Trek to Pangboche 3,900 m – 06 hrs.
Morning after a successful climb on top Lobuche East Peak, return journey towards Pheriche and Pangboche via Thugla on downhill to Pheriche windy valley with nice pleasant walk.

From Pheriche walk continues with super views of Ama Dablam, Nuptse wall, Lhotse, and then heading downhill and back into lower altitude within tree lines, as the walk leads to our overnight stop in Pangboche village.

 

Day 16:            Trek to Namche Bazaar – 06 hrs.

Walk continues retracing the same route from Pangboche, after crossing a bridge an hour climb to Thyangboche Monastery with amazing scenery. Morning walk continues with descend to Imjatse River at Phunge tenga.

 

After crossing the bridge a steep uphill for an hour then with gentle winding walk all the way to Namche Bazaar for overnight stop. (Energetic people can use the route to Namche visiting Everest View Hotel or Khumjung and Khunde village)

 

Day 17:            Trek to Lukla – 06 hrs.

From Namche on downhill path to Dudh Kosi River bank, and then with few short ups and downs to reach at Sagarmatha National Park entrance and then walk to Monjo village.

 

After Monjo with short rest retrace the journey back to Lukla on the same gradual scenic route back to Lukla with memorable adventure climb to Mt. Everest, last day walk back to Lukla on a gradual winding trail passing Phakding and Ghat village then with last uphill climb to Lukla for lunch and overnight stop, evening party and last dinner at Khumbu area.

 

Day 18:            Fly to Kathmandu and transfer to hotel.
From Lukla flight starts from early morning to Kathmandu in fine clear weather, sometime the flight time can get delayed due to bad weather, as per the flight time board in a small plane for a super, scenic flight back to Kathmandu.

On reaching Katmandu domestic terminal our guide and staff transfer you back to respective hotels in the hub of Kathmandu in and around Thamel area.

Day 19:            In Kathmandu with sightseeing tour.
In Kathmandu a spare and free day in case of flight delay at Lukla due to bad weather conditions, with opportunity for another sightseeing tour for few hours, after an interesting sightseeing back to hotel with afternoon free at leisure for individual activities.

Day 20:            International departure for home ward bound.
After a great and grand experience around high Khumbu with successful climb on top Lobuche East Peak, depart from the hotel to the airport for final departure homeward bound or to respective destinations.
