Introduction:

 

Naya Kanga / Ganjala Chuli Climb lead you to a fascinating and exciting adventure on top at above 5, 844 meters/19,173 ft high.

The Naya Kanga peak located within beautiful Langtang valley rim towards southern direction close to Ganja-la high pass which separates Langtang and Helambu areas.

A striking looking peak of rocks covered with snow and ice from Kyanjin Gompa within Langtang valley, the last human settlement and village before heading towards complete wilderness in the harmony of mountains with tranquil environment, on least explored areas by other trekkers and adventurer.

Naya Kanga / Ganjala Chuli Climb one of the least climbed trekking peaks of Nepal, where few adventurer and mountaineers seldom climbed these stunning peaks, a wonderful opportunity to venture around remote areas of Langtang Himal.

The peak although below 6,000 m high but leads you with challenging technical efforts on some sections of the climb to its summit top, where the grade of the climb is listed PD means ‘Per Diifcule’ as per French / Swiss Alpine Climbing Classification.

Starting our adventure to Naya Kanga / Ganjala Chuli Climb taking an interesting drive from Kathmandu towards North around Central Himalaya region within Langtang Himal, where our drive leads through rural farm villages and towns to reach at Syabrubesi village.

From Syabrubesi walk leads higher into alpine green hills and gorge of upper Trisuli called as Bhote Kosi or Langtang Khola and into deep forested areas where endangered and elusive Red Panda seldom seen during walks.

Walk leads past Tamang farm villages enriched with colorful culture of Buddhism religion and the slowly our trek enters a wide and scenic Langtang Valley at Kyanjin Gompa in the comfort of nice and cozy lodge.

With time for acclimatization and short hike to its view point then heading towards our major highlight of the adventure at Naya Kanga / Ganjala Chuli base camp for the classic climb on top the summit of Naya Kanga peak which is known as Ganja Chuli due to its closeness of Ganja – La pass.

After much rest days and preparation as per the right weather conditions, our adventure leads to a big haul and ascent on top Naya Kanga / Ganjala Chuli, where you will be surrounded with incredible views of mountains.

Our adventure concludes walking back on the same route to Syabrubesi for the drive to Kathmandu after an overwhelming and marvelous time on Naya Kanga / Ganjala Chuli Climb.

Day 01:            Arrival at Kathmandu and transfer to hotel.
Day 02:            In Kathmandu optional tour and preparation for Naya Kanga climb.
Day 03:            Drive to Syabrubesi 1,460 m via Trisuli Bazaar – 06 hrs.
Day 04:            Trek to Lama Hotel 2,430 m – 06 hours.
Day 05:            Trek to Langtang village 3,430 m -06 hours.
Day 06:            Trek to Kyanjin Gompa 3,850 m -04 hours.
Day 07:            At Kyanjin Gompa rest day for acclimatization.
Day 08:            Trek to Naya Kanga Base Camp 4,300m / 14,104 ft or Ganja La Phedi – 05 hrs.
Day 09:            Climb to High Camp 4,960 m / 16,273 ft -03 hrs.
Day 10:            Climb the summit of Naya Kanga Peak and back to base camp – 08 hrs.
Day 11:            Reserve and contingency day in case of unfavorable weather problem.
Day 12:            Trek to Kyanjin Gompa – 06 hrs.

Day 01:            Arrival in Kathmandu and transfer to hotels.
On arrival at Kathmandu international airport, where you will be received with warm welcome and then transfer to your hotels in the hub of Kathmandu city, after checking in getting refreshed rendezvous with other climbing members and staff.

Here our guide or group leader will brief you with information regarding trekking and climb of Naya Kanga or Ganjala Chuli, with welcome dinner in a nice Nepalese Restaurants includes Folk program of various parts of Nepal.

Day 02:            In Kathmandu optional tour and preparation for Naya Kanga Peak Climb.

In Kathmandu for full preparations and packing as well to purchase necessary equipments,
on this free day take an optional sightseeing tour at places of interest around Kathmandu-Patan and Bhaktapur cities, where you will be within culture and historical sites most of the monuments listed as World Heritage Sites.

Day 03:            Drive to Syabrubesi 1,460m- 06 hours.
Morning starts with exciting scenic drive away from Kathmandu valley, as the drive leads towards North past Nuwakott town and village to reach at Dhunche, headquarter town of Rasuwa district where Langtang National park starts, Dhunche at 1,900 m and then drive leads downhill on winding road to reach at Syabrubesi village for overnight stop.

Day 04:            Trek to Lama Hotel 2,240m -06 hours.
After fresh morning with mountain air, first day walk of the adventure starts on gradual trail to cross a bridge over Bhote Kosi or upper Trisuli River, after the bridge climb leads to a ridge past scattered Tamang farm villages and terraces to enter into cool alpine forest of tall rhododendron-hemlocks-oaks-magnolia and fir tree lines.

Around this forested area where rare and endangered Red Panda habitats, which is seldom seen along the walk on to Lama Hotel for overnight stop.

Lama Hotel placed in a clearing surrounded within beautiful forests near a raging Upper Trisuli River.

Day 05:            Trek to Langtang village 3,430m – 05 hours.
From Lama Hotel onward walks lead into a gorge covered with dense thick forest offering views of Langtang Lirung along the walk to reach at Ghoretabela, located in the midst of green woodland, after a pleasant rest walk continues with short ups into a forest to reach at Langtang village for overnight stop.

Langtang village was badly destroyed in 2015 earthquakes, this village is slowly coming back to normal; here visit around Tamang farm houses enrich with old culture of Buddhism religion.

Day 06:            Trek to Kyanjin Gompa 3,850m – 04 hours.
After breakfast, today a short walk to Kyanjin Gompa located within beautiful Langtang valley, one of the highlight of Mt. Dorji Lakpa expedition.

Walk starts with short climb as the gorge opens into a wide scenic valley, where tree lines drops for short alpine bushes of azalea plants and juniper bushes with dramatic views of snow covered peaks.

Slowly walk takes you at Kyanjin with an altitude of above 3,850 m high surrounded with views of high mountains.

At Kyanjin with overnight stop, afternoon time relax and catch magnificent views and explore its small Cheese factory, established and support of Swiss technical assistance.

Day 07:            Rest day for local hike and acclimatization.
A free day to get acclimatize before our big climb, here marvel the beautiful views of landscapes and peaks, hike to Tsego Ri or Kyanjin hill at 4,700 m high with views of Ghengu Liru (Langtang II 6,571m / 21,560ft), Langtang Lirung (7,425m / 23,765ft) Kimshun (6,745m / 22,137ft) and Shalbachum(6,918m / 22, 699ft) to the south, the Chimsedang Lekh a ridge of peaks includes Naya-Kanga 5,846m or Ganjala peak with Gangchempo, Tilman’s beautiful Fluted Peak.

Stretch towards Jugal Himal, ending at Mt. Dorje Lakpa (6,966 m / 22,854 ft) within east direction leads to upper meadows at the very end of Langtang valley forming a massive mountain wall and a frontier with Tibet.

Day 08:            Trek to Naya Kanga Base Camp 4,300m / 14,104 ft or Ganja La Phedi – 05 hrs.

After a wonderful and pleasant rest at Kyanjin, morning walk leads towards remote corners of Langtang valley with views of surrounding mountains, on crossing Langtang River with steep climb into rhododendron and birch forest to reach an icy path and then on level ground at the base of Naya Kanga, where our base camp is set, near Ganja La pass around summer pasture.

 

Day 09:            Climb to High Camp 4,960 m / 16,273 ft -03 hrs.

To make the climb much easier and accessible establishing high or Advance camp around rocky bottom ledge of towering Naya Kanga peak or Ganja la Chuli.

 

Our route leads from base camp follows a faint and vague path and with steep climb along a rocky and icy glacier with lot of boulders, continue climb to high camp at the height of 4,960 meters.

 

At High / Advance Camp enjoy rest of the day exploring with preparation for next day big climb, here our expert guide will scout the area for the climb and will fix ropes where necessary for the next day climb.

 

Day 10:    Climb Naya Kanga Peak / Ganja la Chuli and back at base camp – 08 hrs.

A Big Day! Starting very early morning before dawn for summit bid, route leads with steep climb; where our guides have fixed ropes on necessary sections.

After a hard and strenuous climb facing some technical areas to tackle then make a final step on top Naya Kanga peak and Ganja la Chuli at above 5, 844 meters/19,173 ft high.

From the summit facing grand panorama of mountains of Langtang-Ganesh-Manaslu and Jugal Himal range of peaks with Dorji Lakpa and Shisapangma across the border in Tibet.

After a tough climb and marveling awesome views return back at base camp taking great pre-caution on steep descend.

 

Day 11:            Reserve and contingency day in case of unfavorable weather problem.
A day reserved as contingency in case of unfavorable weather on climb, if the weather allows as per our standard itinerary, using this extra day on return trek to Syabrubesi with enjoyable walks.

 

Day 12:            Return to Kyanjin Gompa -06 hrs.
After a marvelous and exciting climb on top Naya Kanga or Ganjala Chuli, then leave the base camp for return trek to Kyanjin Gompa following an icy path enjoying the views along the walk with long descend to reach at Kyanjin Gompa for overnight stop in the comfort of nice cozy lodge.

Day 13:            Trek to Lama Hotel – 06 hrs.
After a pleasant stop at Kyanjin, morning walk leads back on same route to Lama-Hotel a small settlement situated in the middle of a dense green forest near upper Trisuli River.

Day 14:            Trek back to Syabrubesi village – 05 hrs.
Our final day of the adventure and climb of Naya Kanga / Ganjala Chuli, morning walk leads on the same trail which gives you time to enjoy the views along the route, as the route leads downhill into cool shade of forest, as walk leads through farm fields and nice tended terraces to reach at Syabrubesi for last overnight stop around beautiful Langtang region.

Day 15:            Drive to Kathmandu and transfer to respective hotels.
Our adventure with last day around Rasuwa district within Langtang Himal completes today as the morning leads to exciting drive through farmlands, village and town to reach Kathmandu after an enjoyable and great moment on Langtang Valley and climb of Naya Kanga Peak.

Day 16:            In Kathmandu free day for individual activities.
A free day in Kathmandu an opportunity for another sightseeing tour for few hours or just relax and use this day for own individual activities and shopping.

Day 17:            International departure for home ward bound.
After a great and grand experience around high hill and mountains of Langtang Himal areas with successful climb on top Naya Kanga / Ganjala Chuli, depart from the hotel to the airport for final departure homeward bound or to respective destinations.
