Pisang Peak Climb, an adventure of a lifetime experience where walk takes you in the midst of beautiful Manang valley and beyond for exciting climb on top 6,091 m / 19,984 ft high at Pisang Peak.

Pisang Peak, a striking looking dome shaped mountain above the end of scenic Manang valley close to Damodar Himal range of mountains with Chulu’s towards west and north with views of massive Annapurna Mountain range.

Adventure to Pisang Peak Climb, leads you on the best scenic areas of Himalaya region around famous and popular Annapurna Circuit trekking route, listed as world top ten adventure destination by renowned guide books and travel magazines.

Certainly a unique country with never a boring moment on daily walks in the comfort of nice and friendly local lodges that’s found in every villages on route trekking, as from Pisang village onward for few days in tents with full camping facilities of different kitchen unit of cook-kitchen staff along with guides and porters.

Starting with exciting drive from Nepal capital Kathmandu city and heading towards north mid west on busy main highway for some hours and then towards our trekking point at Syange village around Lamjung district.

Walk follows raging Marsyangdi River heading higher past Jagat-Tal and Dharapani interesting villages to reach at Chame, headquarter town of Manang areas, and then walk continues through lovely alpine woodland with grand views of Annapurna-Manaslu with Pisang peak on reach at windswept Pisang village.

At Pisang with acclimatization days heading towards our main highlight and goal of the adventure on Pisang Peak Climb, graded as PD + taken from widely used and popular French / Swiss Alpine Climbing classification.

Although a straightforward climb but with some technical difficulties in few sections towards its summit top at 6,091 m / 19,984 ft high, we have reserved days for acclimatization and preparations and out expert guides will make necessary effort guiding you to the top of Pisang Peak.

Enjoy the spectacular panorama of mountains that circles you at the top, feeling in high spirit descend safely back and head towards main Manang village with interesting walks with views and visiting Braga old monastery.

From Manang village walk leads to cross high and scenic Thorang-La pass at above 5,416 m with tremendous views and then downhill towards holy Muktinath Temple premises to reach at Kaligandaki River valley in Jomsom, the administrative town of Mustang district.

After last overnight stops in Jomsom, next early morning smooth short flight of 22 mins reaches you at picturesque Pokhara by the serene Phewa Lake with views of massive Annapurna Himalaya with mesmerizing and exciting adventure on Pisang Peak Climb.

Brief Itinerary:

Day 01:            Arrival at Kathmandu and transfer to hotel.
Day 02:            In Kathmandu optional tour and preparation for Pisang Peak Climb.
Day 03:            Drive to Syange 1,140m via Besisar – 06 hrs.
Day 04:            Trek to Dharapani 1,920m – 05 hours.
Day 05:            Trek to Chame 2,670 m – 06 hours.
Day 06:            Trek to Pisang village 3,300 m – 05 hrs.
Day 07:            At Pisang village with rest day and acclimatization.
Day 08:            Trek to Pisang Peak base camp 4,380 m – 04 hrs.
Day 09:            Trek and climb to High / Advance Camp 5,400 m – 03 hrs.
Day 10:            Rest day to scout the area and for acclimatization.
Day 11:            Ascent of Pisang Peak and return to base camp.
Day 12:            Reserve and contingency day.
Day 13:            Trek to Manang 3,540m- 04 hrs.
Day 14:            Trek to Yak Kharka 4,210m – 04 hrs.
Day 15:            Trek to Thorang- La High Camp or Phedi 4,450m – 04 hrs.
Day 16:            Cross Thorang La 5,416m | 17,769ft and trek to Muktinath 3,800 m-06 hrs.
Day 17:            Trek to Jomsom 2,715 – 04 hrs.
Day 18:            Fly to Pokhara 860 m afternoon free for individual activities.
Day 19:            From Pokhara drive to Kathmandu 1,345 m – 06hrs.
Day 20:            In Kathmandu free day for individual activities.
Day 21:            International departure homeward bound.

Day 01:            Arrival in Kathmandu and transfer to hotels.
On arrival at Kathmandu international airport, where you will be received with warm welcome and then transfer to your hotels in the hub of Kathmandu city, after checking in getting refreshed rendezvous with other climbing members and staff.

Here our guide or group leader will brief you with information regarding trek and climb of Pisang Peak, with welcome dinner in a nice Nepalese Restaurants includes Folk program of various parts of Nepal.

 

Day 02:            In Kathmandu optional tour and preparation for Pisang Peak Climb.

A free day in Kathmandu for full preparations and packing as well to purchase necessary equipments, on this day where one can take an optional sightseeing tour at places of interest around Kathmandu-Patan and Bhaktapur cities, where you will witness culture and historical sites, most of the monuments listed on World Heritage Sites.

Day 03:            Drive to Syange 1,140m via Besisar – 06 hrs.
Morning overland journey on main busy highway of Nepal heading towards Mid West zone around Lamjung and Manang districts, drive leads through Himalayan foothills within warmer areas past many farm villages and town.

Day 04:            Trek to Dharapani 1,920m – 05 hours.

From Syange first day walk begins with a climb leaving behind Marshyangdi River to reach at Jagat village, a farm village with many lodges for trekkers.

 

After Jagat walk on winding path to Chamje to join back at Marshyangdi River crossing the river heading into forested area, with super views of Annapurna and Manaslu mountain ranges.

As the walk continues reaching Tal Besi, from here another few hours walk leads to overnight stop at Dharapani village.

 

Dharapani a nice village located on the junction of Annapurna circuit and Manaslu trekking trail.

 

Day 05:            Trek to Chame 2,670 m – 05 hours.

With pleasant overnight stop in Dharapani morning walk into rhododendron and pine forest passing villages of Bagarchap and Danque, then at Timang village with more Buddhist cultured village including views of Mt. Manaslu 8,163m / 26,781ft. From Timang village few hours trek leads to Koto close to Chame town.

 

After a refreshing stop at Koto where trail to Nar-Phu and towards Chame beyond joins, from here a short slow uphill walk brings you at Chame for the overnight stop, Chame a large major and headquarter town of Manang district.

 

Day 06:            Trek to Pisang 3, 230 m – 05 hrs.

From here onwards feel the cool and fresh mountain air, morning walk leads through enchanting alpine forests of rhododendron and pine tree lines following the Marshyangdi River upstream with several ups and downs to Bhratang village, after this small village walk follows uphill’s through the woodlands at Dukure Pokhari with couple of teahouses overlooking views of Chulu’s and Pisang peak and of Pisang village, after a break here descending to reach the lower Pisang village for overnight stop.

 

Day 07:       Rest day at Pisang for local hikes and acclimatization.
Rest day in Pisang village for necessary acclimatization and physical fitness before heading high to Pisang Peak climb, on this day take a short hike around, as walking higher and sleeping at low altitude helps with acclimatization better.

This rest day also helps to plan the climb where our guide provides necessary information of the area, culture, religion and climbing skill required for the climb.

 

Day 08:            Trek to Pisang Peak Base Camp 4,380m – 04 hrs.
After a nice rest at Pisang village, our route leads north above Pisang village, as tree lines drops for short bushes within Yak grazing land, called Kharka.

Climbing the high ridge above Pisang peak where our guide and staff will set up the base camp with camping equipments at 4,380 meters high, first night in tents meals prepared by our expert cook and kitchen staff.

Day 09:       Trek and climb to High Camp 5,400 m – 03 hrs.
A short day but tough due to high altitude, morning walk follows a faint trail where few climbers and Yak herders hardly use this path to high camp, as the walk leads over rocks, ice and glacier to reach bottom of Pisang Peak where high camp is set for the climb.

Afternoon our guide will scout the area for safe accessible route to the summit fixing ropes and making ice ledges where necessary, High Camp situated on long ridge of Pisang Peak, under some conditions this area may be under snow, afternoon free to sort the gear with preparation for the early morning climb.

Day 10:       Rest day to scout the area and for acclimatization.
A necessary day for proper preparation and acclimatization for the final ascent to the summit of Pisang peak and this day allows our guide to check the best assailable routes to reach the top of the lofty and dome shaped Pisang Peak.

Day 11:       Climb Pisang Peak and return to base camp time permitting to Pisang village.
Our highlight and main target of the adventure start early before dawn climbing over moraine and rubble of ice falls, following our lead guide reaching high above well defined ridge to the last snow slopes.

Climb leads to a steep rocks and ice with some technical sections to tackle to the summit of Pisang Peak with support of Sherpa Climbing guides.

From the summit marvel the spectacular views of Annapurna Mountain range with peaks of Chulu’s includes Damodar Himal and Mt. Manaslu towards east horizon.

After being on top and highest spot at 6,091 m / 19,984 ft high, descend on same route back to base camp, as time permits and possible with physical strength after the climb walk all the way to Pisang village.

Day 12:            Reserve day in case of bad weather condition.
We reserve an extra day as contingency in case of unfavorable weather condition, or to adjust this day to maintain itinerary days taking care of client’s health and fitness as well.

If all goes well according to our standard itinerary our guide / leader will use this extra day on return trek to Manang or on route to Jomsom, making shorter days with enjoyable walks on route.

Day 13:            Trek to Manang 3,540 m – 05 hrs.

Morning views of mountains, from here onward altitude gains as the walk leads through forest with short uphill and views of Annapurna II and III, Gangapurna Chulu’s and Pisang peak.
Walk downhill to reach flat valley at Hongde village, from here onward tree lines fades for barren, arid landscapes with cold, dry arctic climate.

 

Before Manang, visit old Braga monastery with old Buddhist relics, ancient wall painting and frescos and stunning views of Annapurna Himalaya, from here an hour walk reaches at Manang village.

 

Day 14:            Trek to Yak Kharka 4,210m – 04 hrs.

After a good rest at Manang, walk towards Ghunsang village with short uphill to reach at Yak Kharka, an interesting walk with views of snowcapped mountains, on crossing a small stream reaching Yak Kharka for overnight stop, a small settlement with views of Gangapurna, Annapurna III and Chulu Peaks.

 

Day 15:            Trek to Thorang- La High Camp or Phedi 4,450 m – 04 hrs.

Morning walk towards base of Thorang-la after crossing a bridge with a climb along the river bank of Jarjung, finally walk leads at Thorang Phedi, here depending upon the physical conditions of the clients, if all goes well an hour steep climb to Thorang High Camp for overnight stop.

 

Day 16:            Cross Thorang La 5,416m | 17,769 ft and trek to Muktinath 3,800 m- 06 hrs.
One of the highlight of the adventure! After early breakfast walk leads to a long climb to Thorang-la on steep winding path to reach Thorang La Pass at 5,416 m / 17,700 ft.

 

The highest point of the adventure with views of snowcapped peaks, and then with long descends to reach at holy Muktinath around Lower Mustang area.

 

On reaching Muktinath for overnight stop, this is a holy spot for both Hindus and Buddhists the word Muktinath literally means ‘the place for Nirvana or Liberation’.

 

Day 17:            Trek to Jomsom 2, 715 m – 04 hours.

From Muktinath, rest of the walks is easier with big drop of 1,200m as the trail descend to Kaligandaki river valley to reach at Jomsom, headquarter town of Mustang region with a small airstrip above Kaligandaki River, an interesting country walking on Kaligandaki River valley within dry and arid country with incredible views of windblown hills and canyons.

A pleasant walk of few hours brings you at large town in Jomsom the capital of Thakali people of Tibetan Buddhism sects.  At Jomsom for overnight stop headquarter town of Mustang district with nice paved streets and many well kept lodges.

This Kaligandaki area famous for delicious apples and its products, here celebrate with local apple products cider, brandy and juices. Kaligandaki area is also famously known as Apple Pie Trail.

Day 18:       Fly to Pokhara and transfer to hotel.
Morning short walk to Jomsom small airport for short scenic flight to picturesque Pokhara valley, Pokhara with massive Annapurna Mountain views with serene Phewa Lake where our hotels located, afternoon free for individual activities and souvenir shopping or just relax and enjoy the views.

Day 19:            Drive or fly back to Kathmandu and transfer to respective hotels.
Morning catching last views of Annapurna Himalaya with majestic Machhapuchare Himal or Fish Tail, and then an exciting overland journey to reach back into the hustle bustle city life of Kathmandu after a great experience and overwhelming time on Pisang Peak Climb.

Day 20:            In Kathmandu with sightseeing tour.
A day reserved as spare and free day in case of delay on climb due to bad weather conditions, with opportunity for sightseeing tour for few hours, after an interesting sightseeing back to hotel with afternoon free at leisure for individual activities.

Day 21:            International departure for home ward bound.
After a great and grand experience around high hill and mountains of Annapurna with successful climb on top Pisang Peak, depart from the hotel to the airport for final departure homeward bound or to respective destinations.
