Tilicho Lake & Mesokanto-La Trekking leads you on same popular and famous Annapurna Circuit scenic trails.

But with a slight difference where our adventure diverts from main tracks of Annapurna after Manang heading towards hidden and least visited areas to beautiful Tilicho Lake and beyond Mesokanto-La pass to reach at Jomsom town in Mustang areas.

A fascinating and scenic walks on beautiful Manang valley following Marsyangdi River upstream right up to its glacial source in Manang and Tilicho Lake, one of the few treks in Himalaya where you have opportunity walking right up to the start of the river.

Tilicho Lake & Mesokanto-La Trekking a super combination adventure with scenic walks and exploring local culture and custom of immense interest around villages of Dharapani-Chame town-Pisang and Manang villages as well visit to its old monasteries or Gompa.

Starting from Kathmandu taking an exciting and interesting drive to reach our trekking point at Syange village within low warmer sub-tropical climate of Lamjung district, and then on high hills with views of Annapurna and Manaslu peaks with Lamjung Himal.

Walk leads through lovely cool forested areas of tall rhododendron-magnolia-pines-oaks and fir tree lines and soon fades away for alpine shrubs and short rhododendron and juniper bushes on entering within scenic and beautiful Manang valley within arid and barren landscapes with close to Northern Annapurna with peaks of Pisang and Chulu’s.

Rest day at Manang village to explore its interesting cultural villages as well for acclimatization then leading away from main Annapurna circuit trails to reach at emerald colored Tilicho Lake, considered as sacred lake by Hindu and Buddhist religion.

With pleasant and marvelous time at Tilicho Lake our adventure leads to complete wilderness to traverse over a hidden pass of Mesokanto-La, where few trekkers have ever crossed this and visited this remote areas of Manang and Tilicho Lake.

After a great climb on top Mesokanto-la the highest spot of the adventure at 5,099 m / 16,826 ft, and then with pleasant walk enjoying views of Tilicho and Nilgiris peaks with Mt. Dhaulagiri to reach at Mustang areas in Jomsom for sweeping scenic flight to picturesque Pokhara.

Our spectacular and magnificent adventure Tilicho Lake & Mesokanto-La Trekking concludes at beautiful Pokhara with views of Annapurna Himalaya and Machhapuchare Himal ‘Fish Tail’ that reflects on its calm Phewa Lake.

Day 01:            Arrival at Kathmandu and transfer to hotel.
Day 02:            In Kathmandu optional tour and preparation for Tilicho Lake Trek.
Day 03:            Drive to Syange 1,140m via Besisar – 06 hrs.
Day 04:            Trek to Dharapani 1,920m – 05 hours.
Day 05:            Trek to Chame 2,670 m – 06 hours.
Day 06:            Trek to Pisang village 3,300 m – 05 hrs.
Day 07:            Trek to Manang village 3,540 m – 05 hrs.
Day 08:            Rest day at Manang for acclimatization and short hike.
Day 09:            Trek to Khangsar 3,734 – 05 hrs.
Day 10:            Trek to Tilicho Lake 4,140 m – 04 hrs.
Day 11:            Trek to Tilicho Base Camp 4, 800 m – 04 hrs.
Day 12:            Trek to Nama Phu 3,510 m via Mesokanto La 5,099 m -06 hrs.
Day 13:            Reserve – contingency days in case of unfavorable weather and trail condition.
Day 14:            Trek to Kaisang 3,280m or further to Thinigaon 2,850m -06 hrs.
Day 15:            Trek to Jomsom 2,715 m – 02 hrs.
Day 16:            Fly to Pokhara 860 m and transfer to hotel by the Phewa Lake side.
Day 17:            From Pokhara drive / fly to Kathmandu 1,345 m – 06 hrs journeys.
Day 18:            In Kathmandu free day for individual activities.
Day 19:            International departure homeward bound.

Day 01:            Arrival in Kathmandu and transfer to hotels.
On arrival at Kathmandu international airport, where you will be received with warm welcome and then transfer to your hotels in the hub of Kathmandu city, after checking in getting refreshed rendezvous with other climbing members and staff.

Here our guide or group leader will brief you with information regarding Annapurna Circuit Trekking, with welcome dinner in a nice Nepalese Restaurants includes Folk program of various parts of Nepal.

Day 02:            In Kathmandu optional tour and preparation for Tilicho Lake treks.

We reserved a day in Kathmandu for full preparations and packing as well to purchase necessary equipments for the trek.

On this free day, one can take an optional sightseeing tour at places of interest around Kathmandu-Patan and Bhaktapur cities, where you will be soaked within culture and historical sites most of the monuments listed as World Heritage Sites.

Day 03:            Drive to Syange 1,140m via Besisar – 06 hrs.
Morning overland journey on main busy highway of Nepal heading towards Mid West zone around Lamjung and Manang districts, drive leads through Himalayan foothills within warmer areas past many farm villages and town.

Day 04:            Trek to Dharapani 1,920m – 05 hours.

From Syange first day walk begins with a climb leaving behind Marshyangdi River to reach at Jagat village, a farm village with many lodges for trekkers.


After Jagat walk on winding path to Chamje to join back at Marshyangdi River crossing the river heading into forested area, with super views of Annapurna and Manaslu mountain ranges.

As the walk continues reaching Tal Besi, from here another few hours walk leads to overnight stop at Dharapani village.


Dharapani a nice village located on the junction of Annapurna circuit and Manaslu trekking trail.


Day 05:            Trek to Chame 2,670 m – 05 hours.

With pleasant overnight stop in Dharapani morning walk into rhododendron and pine forest passing villages of Bagarchap and Danque, then at Timang village with more Buddhist cultured village including views of Mt. Manaslu 8,163m / 26,781ft. From Timang village few hours trek leads to Koto close to Chame town.


After a refreshing stop at Koto where trail to Nar-Phu and towards Chame beyond joins, from here a short slow uphill walk brings you at Chame for the overnight stop, Chame a large major and headquarter town of Manang district.


Day 06:            Trek to Pisang 3, 230 m – 05 hrs.

From here onwards feel the cool and fresh mountain air, morning walk leads through enchanting alpine forests of rhododendron and pine tree lines following the Marshyangdi River upstream with several ups and downs to Bhratang village, after this small village walk follows uphill’s through the woodlands at Dukure Pokhari with couple of teahouses overlooking views of Chulu’s and Pisang peak and of Pisang village, after a break here descending to reach the lower Pisang village for overnight stop.


Day 07:            Trek to Manang 3,540 m – 05 hrs.

Morning walk leads you towards Manang main village, on route with short stop at Humdre and at Braga villages before reaching at Manang village after a great scenic walk of the day.

Morning views of mountains, from Pisang walk leads facing Annapurna II and III, Gangapurna Chulu’s and Pisang peak.

Walking on flat valley at Hongde village with its small airstrip, from here onward easy pleasant treks then reaching at main Manang village for overnight stop in the comfort of nice and cozy lodges.


Before Manang, visit old Braga monastery with old Buddhist relics, ancient wall painting and frescos and stunning views of Annapurna Himalaya, from here an hour walk reaches at Manang village.


Day 08:            Rest day at Manang for acclimatization and short hike.
A rest day in this nice traditional Manang village for acclimatization and short hike to a view point hill below massive Mt. Gangapurna Ice falls and glaciers above Manang emerald colored lake, afternoon explore Manang village of great interest with Buddhist tradition and culture.


Day 09:       Trek to Khangsar 3,734 – 05 hrs.
After Manang village morning walk leads to another highlight of this trip, as our route diverts from main Annapurna circuit trail reaching one of the last village of Manang at Khangsar for overnight stop which lies on route to Tilicho Lake.

Day 10:       Trek to Tilicho Lake 4,140 m – 04 hrs.
From here onwards around dry and arid country, morning walk  on downhill for some time, then uphill to reach Tilicho Lake for overnight stop.

Tilicho Lake a holy spot for both Hindu’s and Buddhist religions, offering wonderful views of snowcapped peaks in the comfort of nice lodge by the bank of beautiful Tilicho Lake.

Day 11:       Trek to Tilicho Base Camp 4,800 m – 04 hrs.
After Tilicho Lake, morning walk further to remote areas of Manang valley, after a tough morning walk reaching at Mesokanto-La or Tilicho Base Camp, our highest overnight camp of this adventure at 4,800 meters high.

Overnight camp is set on a nice meadow, with chances of spotting some wild-life like antelopes, musk deer or elusive snow leopard.

Day 12:       Trek to Nama Phu 3,510m via Mesokanto La 5,099 m – 06 hrs.
Today a long and Big Day of this trip! Starting the climb early morn to cross two high passes, over Tilicho pass then downhill walk to the base of Mesokanto pass, after a rest then climb over Mesokanto-la pass with steep climb to reach the ridge at 5,099 meters.

On reaching the top ridge and the pass descend to our overnight camp in a small place at Nama phu.

Day 13:            Reserve – contingency days in case of unfavorable weather and trail condition.
A day reserved as contingency in case of bad unfavorable weather and trail conditions over Mesokanto-La, as this route is least explored and trekked by other adventurer and trekkers.

For safe and to maintain our standard itinerary days it will use full and necessary using the spare days, if all goes well where our guide will decide on using this day on route Jomsom or at Pokhara.

Day 14:       Trek to Thini-Gaon 2,850 m via Kaisang- 07 hrs.
After a tough walk of previous day, morning an easy day trek downhill to reach Kaligandaki valley with views of Mt. Dhaulagiri and Nilgiris peaks.

This nice and pleasant walk leads to Kaisang and then further to a large village of Thinigaon for overnight stop, located above Jomsom and Kaligandaki Valley.

Day 15:            Trek to Jomsom 2,715 m – 02 hrs.
From Thini-Gaon, situated away from main trekking trails where only few trekkers seldom visits this isolated village offering grand views of Jomsom with snow clad peaks.


Morning a short walk as well last day of this adventure trekking where a few hour treks reaches you at Kaligandaki river valley to Jomsom for last overnight within high valley of Western Nepal Himalaya.


Jomsom headquarter town of Mustang region with a small airstrip above Kaligandaki River, an interesting country around Kaligandaki River valley within dry and arid country with incredible views of windblown hills and canyons.


Day 16:            Fly to Pokhara 860 m and transfer to hotel near Phewa Lake.
Morning a short walk to Jomsom airport for scenic short flight to reach at beautiful Pokhara, during air fantastic views of Dhaulagiri and Annapurna Himalayan peaks, as the aircraft lands at Pokhara.


Pokhara one of the most sought touristic destinations in all Himalaya, a picturesque city overlooking views of massive Annapurna Himalaya with famous and magnificent Machhapuchare Himal ‘Fish Tail’.


From the airport a short drive to reach hotels by serene Phewa Lake side, with time to explore beautiful Pokhara.


Day 17:            Drive or fly back to Kathmandu and transfer to respective hotels.
Morning catching last views of Annapurna Himalaya with majestic Machhapuchare Himal or Fish Tail, and then an exciting overland journey to reach back into the hustle bustle city life of Kathmandu after a great experience and overwhelming time on Tilicho Lake & Mesokanto-la Pass Trekking.

Day 18:            In Kathmandu with sightseeing tour.
A day reserved as spare and free day for you to enjoy individual activities and shopping, with opportunity for sightseeing tour for few hours, after an interesting sightseeing back to hotel with afternoon free at leisure.

Day 19:            International departure for home ward bound.
After a great and grand experience around high hill and mountains of Annapurna Himalaya with fantastic adventure on Tilicho Lake & Mesokanto-la Pass Trekking, depart from the hotel to the airport for final departure homeward bound or to respective destinations.
