Island Peak Climbing
The Island Peak Climbing (6,189m), locally known as Imja Tse, is one of Nepal’s most popular trekking peaks, situated in the beautiful Imja Valley of the Everest region. Surrounded by spectacular Himalayan giants, including Lhotse, Nuptse, Ama Dablam and Baruntse, Island Peak offers an exciting introduction to high-altitude mountaineering.
The journey combines the classic Everest region trekking experience with a challenging mountain climbing objective. The route passes through traditional Sherpa villages, ancient monasteries, alpine landscapes and the renowned Khumbu region before reaching Island Peak Base Camp.
Island Peak is suitable for climbers with good physical fitness and appropriate preparation. Although often considered an introductory mountaineering peak, it involves glacier travel and technical climbing sections requiring proper training, equipment and professional guidance.
