Pikey Peak Trek – Lower Solukhumbu
The Lower Solukhumbu Pikey Peak Trek is a rewarding Himalayan journey offering panoramic mountain views, traditional Sherpa villages, peaceful forest trails, and rich Buddhist heritage. Located in Nepal’s lower Everest region, Pikey Peak (approximately 4,065m) is renowned for its sweeping views of the Himalayan range, including Mount Everest and other major peaks on clear days.
Beginning with a scenic overland journey from Kathmandu to Dhap, the trek passes through hillside settlements, rhododendron forests, open ridgelines, and traditional teahouse villages. The route reaches Pikey Peak for an early-morning summit visit before continuing towards Junbesi, where trekkers can explore the culturally significant Thupten Chholing Monastery.
Unlike many treks in the Everest region, the standard Pikey Peak route can be completed without a domestic mountain flight. It is an excellent option for travellers seeking mountain scenery and cultural experiences in a quieter part of Solukhumbu.
