Annapurna Circuit Trek is one of Nepal’s classic long-distance Himalayan trekking adventures, offering an extraordinary journey through diverse landscapes, traditional mountain villages, and spectacular Himalayan scenery. The route travels from subtropical valleys and lush forests through the high alpine landscapes of Manang, crosses the legendary Thorong La Pass (5,416m), and descends into the culturally rich Mustang region.

The trek provides an incredible opportunity to experience the geographical and cultural diversity of the Annapurna region. Along the way, trekkers pass through traditional Gurung, Manangi and Thakali settlements, terraced farmlands, deep river valleys, Buddhist monasteries, ancient villages, and dramatic mountain landscapes. The surrounding peaks include Annapurna, Gangapurna, Tilicho Peak, and Dhaulagiri.

One of the major highlights is the challenging crossing of Thorong La Pass, one of the world’s renowned high-altitude trekking passes. From the pass, trekkers can enjoy breathtaking panoramic views of the surrounding Himalayan mountains before descending towards the sacred pilgrimage destination of Muktinath.

The journey continues through the arid landscapes of Lower Mustang, offering a fascinating contrast to the greener valleys encountered earlier in the trek. With changing scenery, rich cultural experiences, and a rewarding high-altitude adventure, the Annapurna Circuit is an unforgettable journey for trekkers seeking a challenging and diverse Himalayan experience.

The trek requires good physical fitness, proper acclimatisation, and preparation for extended walking days and high-altitude conditions. Crossing Thorong La requires particular attention to weather, altitude, and the guidance of experienced trekking professionals.
