Phanden Sherpa

With nearly three decades of experience in Nepal’s tourism and mountaineering industry, Phanden Sherpa has built his career from the ground up, beginning as a mountain porter and progressing to become an experienced expedition leader and tourism entrepreneur. His journey reflects the dedication, resilience, and deep Himalayan knowledge that define Nepal’s mountaineering community.

Phanden Sherpa first summited Mount Everest in 2001 and has returned to the mountain over the years, participating in 16 Everest expeditions in various roles and successfully reaching the summit six times. His impressive climbing experience also includes six successful ascents of Cho Oyu, beginning in 1997, as well as ascents of Lhotse, Shishapangma in Tibet (2011), Ama Dablam, and numerous trekking peaks across the Himalayas.

In 2018, Phanden officially established Sherpa Climbing Treks and Expedition Pvt. Ltd. in Kathmandu, Nepal, transforming his years of hands-on mountain experience into a company dedicated to delivering memorable trekking and mountaineering adventures. Combining practical high-altitude expertise with an in-depth understanding of Himalayan terrain, local culture, and expedition logistics, he is committed to helping adventurers explore the mountains of Nepal with experienced guidance and professional support.

From his early days as a porter to leading a mountaineering company, Phanden’s story is one of perseverance, passion, and an enduring connection to the Himalayas. His experience and firsthand knowledge continue to shape the adventures offered by Sherpa Climbing Treks and Expedition.
