Gokyo Lake EBC Trekking
Gokyo Lake EBC Trek is a spectacular collection of high-altitude glacial lakes located in the Khumbu region of northeastern Nepal, within Sagarmatha National Park. Famous for their beautiful turquoise waters, surrounding glaciers, and dramatic Himalayan scenery, these lakes are among the most remarkable natural features of the Everest region.
Situated at approximately 4,700–5,000 metres above sea level, the Gokyo lake system is surrounded by impressive mountain landscapes, including views towards Cho Oyu, Everest, Lhotse, and Makalu. The nearby Ngozumpa Glacier, one of Nepal’s largest glaciers, adds to the region’s distinctive geography.
The lakes also hold important religious and ecological significance. They are sacred to both Hindu and Buddhist communities and provide habitat for migratory birds. The Gokyo wetlands were designated a Ramsar Site in 2007, recognizing their international importance.
